The obituaries below are pre-prepared or under development to provide a quick reaction when notable persons pass away. While it may appear to some to be tasteless, it is a common practice in a number or media organisations. You are able to see the pre-prepared obituaries below because of Wikinews' open editing nature.
An obituary should be written if a prominent or notable person has any of the following circumstances:
- The person is old enough to be able to die of age at any time.
- The person has an illness/sickness/handicap that might take the persons life at any time.
- The person is highly probable to be murdered/killed by a third party or external event at any time.
Typically an obituary should be respectful , not delving into sensationalism, however in respect of some figures sensitively mentioning the reasons for their notoriety may be needed.
A template obituary for any person is available at this page. It will need a considerable amount of expansion before it is a proper article.
