Copyright: being involved in it
The WMF, and all its projects, are directly and indirectly involved with copyright. Wikimedians from all the projects are active in discussions regarding how to work with the existing laws and treaties.
The European Commission is in the process of modernizing their copyright laws and rules, and has approached organizations such as the Foundation and requested their input on their renovations, with a long list of queries. Wikimedians are working together on a response to this (very welcome) inquiry on Meta. I would encourage all Wikinewsies to take a look at what is happening there to understand what kinds of issues are being looked at, and of course to add their voices when and where they can.
