Yesterday marks a century and a half (150 years) since the Pony Express was rendered obsolete due to the First transcontinental telegraph on October 24, 1861. The Pony Express, for its role in the Old West, was quite short lived, lasting only 19 months, from March 1860 until October 1861. This 150-year anniversary period, which began last year in March 2010, ended yesterday.
