2007 ICC World Twenty20: Australia vs Bangladesh

Australia defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets in the Super 8 stage of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 at Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town, South Africa.
Bangladesh were restricted to just 123 runs from their 20 overs. Having reached 40 runs in the seventh over, Bangladesh lost opening batsman Nazimuddin, caught by Ricky Ponting for 11. Ponting also caught Tamim Iqbal, who was Bangladesh's top scorer with 32 runs off 40 balls. Brett Lee took the first hat trick in Twenty20 internationals, first dismissing Shakib al Hasan, then bowling Mashrafe Mortaza and trapping Alok Kapali lbw. Nathan Bracken took two wickets in two balls in the final over, including that of Aftab Ahmed for 31 runs.
Australia cruised to 124 runs from 13.5 overs, with Matthew Hayden hitting 73 runs off 48 balls. Just one wicket fell during the Australian innings, when Adam Gilchrist was run out for 43.
