There's something wrong with the sorting in this category. The instructions say:
- When you are adding a portal to the category, add it in this fashion: [[Category:Portal|X]], where "X" is the first letter of the portal title (after the colon).
This has led to the following order in the portals list (an excerpt of the "O" section):
And the corresponding subcategories appear in this order:
Neither of which, of course, is in alphabetical order. What gives? I tried null edits on all the above pages and there's no change. - dcljr 00:15, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- I know 3 years is kind of late for a reaction, but here it goes anyway. It's because "Category:Oklahoma|O" is used, while "Category:Oklahoma|Oklahoma" would give the result you want. It's better to give the full name under which you want it sorted, otherwise the algorithm will assume all categories should be sorted by the letter 'O' only. It looks like the instructions are now correct, but the sorting still isn't, so I'll fix the sorting. Cheers, Van der Hoorn (talk) 14:55, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
