I'm hoping the mainstream media catches wind of this, and moreso, that they actually report on it. Very scary. Children arrested? --Poisonous (talk) 08:01, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Don't care--KDP3 (talk) 12:21, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh dear... democracy in action? D: the more I read this election isn't a vote for Obama but a vote against 4 more years of Neocon mismanagement. Mind you I'm in Australia and everyone down here is basically counting on Obama winning --218.215.58.198 12:47, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please take an American civics class, you are an idiot, Republicans are idiots, Democrats have 37 chromosomes. RIP Common Sense, you are missed. Also, you make it seem like the Minneapolis police are the Republican armed guard. I can guarantee you that the police took no orders from the RNC, there were violent protests that week, whether rights were violated were on part by the police, not the RNC. These people were stupid punks, they deserved their rights, but idiots none the less (which goes back to common sense). So, self-proclaimed spokesman for the people of Austrailia, go run into a knife. Sorry to keep you from your Communist Manifesto. 68.189.148.241 16:41, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've got to make a response here. You are wrong on every count 68.148.241 and are a bad American if even that. You lack reading comprehension, and have little idea what you yourself write. It comes forth like vomit from your frothing mouth apparently. Everything you write is like the ravings of a lunatic. That's it. I'm done. 65.1.136.141 14:06, 22 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Who is telling this story???

[edit]

I would just like to point out that it seems this entire article is based one one person's perspective of events. You will noticed the lack of any citations or quotes of anybody who was actually invovled in what happened. Furthermore you will notice a "total" lack of effort on the authors part to get the "official story" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.165.172.37 (talk) 16:10, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The presentation of this story sounds incredibly one-sided. Unless there can be included some account from the police officers involved, all you have is unfounded accusations coming from a group with political interests. 76.194.228.169 16:27, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
It would be nice if authorities and police had enough respect to respond to Wikinews' queries, but they didn't. --Brian McNeil / talk 14:17, 22 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm speechless. I didn't think it was possible for the government and its workers to lose more of my respect, but again I'm proved wrong. If I wasn't such a coward, I'd be all for a revolution. --96.252.61.169 20:58, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree, it's pretty bad. I'm hoping news comes out about the people who were arrested. --Poisonous (talk) 06:49, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Who did this?

[edit]

I am trying to presume the best intentions that I can of everyone involved, without coming across as too naive. I am willing to presume, for the time being, that most of the police officers there were merely following orders, and, even when the orders seem unnecessary, I can understand the need for soldiers and police to follow orders quickly because they may not have as clear a view of the overall picture as their superiors. Organizations like that depend on strong hierarchical systems.

However, it does appear, based on what I have seen, heard, and read about this incident, that these arrests and detainment were quite unnecessary. I would like to know who gave these orders, who misinterpreted them, or who disobeyed them. I think it is strange that no inquiry or investigation has been launched (as far as I can tell) to probe into this incident, find out who was really at fault, and to correct the problem. It would appear that someone, either the police or whoever was giving them orders, broke the law and illegally restrained and attacked these people. When something like that is done in broad daylight, with press right there, or especially when it is done to members of the press, I would think there would be no way to avoid an official investigation and a clear explanation for what went wrong.

Whom do I see about truth and justice? Agiar2000 (talk) 18:36, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why was this not a bigger story?

[edit]

Is this information accurate? Does it seem strange that so many people could be arrested for seemingly no reason? ____161.243.65.1 15:32, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
