I have heard by other reports that he was out in the Bellanca scouting for dry lake beds....relating to a possible future venture with a land speed record attempt. If this can be confirmed, it might suggest that he, indeed, had a very large flat place on which to land.

More information on such a sites--and how near they are to the airport of origination might be very useful.

Further information about the plane, such as that it is capable of around 150 mph would be appropriate information, as well.

In my opinion, he is dead; we'll find his body in a few days. Sounds just like the Kennedy thing. Unsigned.

If it was a crash, his emergency transmitter would have indicated his position. Most likely, it's an "unplanned field landing due to technical issues", and, much like Branson said, he is just waiting by his aircraft for a ride home. Unsigned.

Hang in there, Steve. We'll find you or you will find us. Joefaust 11:43, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

How long could someone survive in the desert without food or water? Even assuming the best, it doesn't sound hopeful.

There are also poor people missing, why aren't we looking for them. If Steve appears to be dead his relatives could rise a fund for missing people who can not afford planes and helicopters.
