I'm not sure who's the bad guy here, father or son, but it's quite remarkable that when you tell the world your dad just passed on you immediately speak ill of him. I suspect the remark about other people's cooking was said with a wry smile (and AP noted it came with a chuckle) but the "demanding" comment is very telling.
