This kind of crime is typical of mentally ill people, apparently caused by deep depression. How to act preventively against this kind of event happening again?. Perhaps the psychologist of the school should have the first word in this respect. Jaime Saldarriaga 15:23, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

I think I have that t-shirt. Contralya 17:36, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sad story

[edit]

School shootings like this are very upsetting to hear about. What a senseless act. Excellent coverage on this story, though. Very well done. Jcart1534 17:40, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The primary cause

[edit]

The primary reason people ever do school shootouts, is because they get bullied all of the time and no-one is willing to help them. Contralya 20:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, the primary cause is because they're mentally unbalanced and think doing this will solve their problems.--72.130.143.25 23:10, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
And that, it does, at least in the shooter's mind. Thinking along these lines though will do nothing to prevent these types of incidents. You can call everyone whackos if you want, this won't stop this trend. Contralya's comment is more thoughtful in my opinion. —67.173.131.28 23:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

this was planned

I have seen documentaries on it. Seen interviews with friends of school shooters, how they get beaten up and abused and no-one helps them. And more often than not, when they realize that the cops have them cornered and start feeling guilt, school shooters shoot themselves after they do their deeds. I think that events like this should be handled on case-by-case basis. Although, I wouldn't be too surprised if someone was pushed to killing by bullies. Tarmo Tanilsoo 07:41, 8 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

While I agree that it is usualy the case that the perpetrator is someone who was psychologically abused and snapped (Virginia Tech, for example - I suspect the perpetrator, had he been captured alive, would have been found legally insane, and detained and offered assistence from America's equivilent of the Mental Health Act). However, looking over this case, his motivation seems to be rather unusual. His mind is certainly very twisted - I can't make up my mind if he had psychological problems and didn't get the help he needed, or if he's entirely sound of mind, seen some of the evil in society, and jumped to entirely the wrong conclusions about it and what course of action to take. Depression is one of the most currently problem caused by total isolation of the peoples in his life. Peoples don't ask and speak with others about his problems. There are each much more busy and then they loss the time to sleep or to travel to made it work. The time when not good administrated will completly loss and there could be one consequence. Also we forguet that we need to stay with the persons that we love, to tell and ask about some things to made us life better. This will be one of the first condition to live better.
