It's a gimmick

Drama like this is probably a contrivance to maintain the appearance and pretenses of two independent and diametrically opposed political parties. Fodder for the news media's diegesis. Both parties serve the same moneyed interests. I doubt either they or the mass media have any respect whatsoever for the American public. I'd submit an editorial on this topic if Wikinews would accept it.
