Kudos[edit]

As always, kudos to Helen Thomas, who has proven time and again that she has more spine than the entire White House Press Corps put together. In this era of Orwellian illogic and blatant FUD, it's like a welcome gust of clean air in a smoky room to hear someone speak out plainly, sensibly, and courageously.

Way to go, Helen. --on WP as User:Kasreyn.

Too bad[edit]

That i don't care for the treatment of Terrorist. They can water board them all they want.--66.229.16.129 18:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good for you. Do you also care if your president lies directly to your face? Because what people are lauding Thomas for is that she proved he did. --on WP as User:Kasreyn —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.127.107.8 (talk) 19:04, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No not really, because every single one of them do it, From Obama and the dems too the GOP party; it a matter when you know their saying BS and not saying BS here is a hint it always BS like "change". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.229.16.129 (talk) 22:34, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do you know the people who were waterboarded were terrorists? Because they were Muslims? Or because they've confessed under torture? 85.140.223.152 10:34, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes (and I say this with a big *sigh*) lies from the government are actually necessary (god that hurts to say). What makes terrorists, freedom fightors, extremists, whatever the hell ya wanna call them, so dangerous is their ability to keep their own machinations clandestine; ergo sometimes to successfully combat that manner of activity you need to keep your own secrets. That being said I don't think interrogation methods need to be kept secret - hell let all who would threaten or help those that threaten know what hey can look forward to (provided of course there are checks and balances in place).

"The program helped us stop a plot to strike a U.S. Marine camp in Djibouti, a planned attack on the U.S. consulate in Karachi, a plot to hijack a passenger plane and fly it into Library Tower in Los Angeles, and a plot to crash passenger planes into Heathrow Airport or buildings in downtown London. And it has helped us understand al Qaida's structure and financing and communications and logistics. Were it not for this program, our intelligence community believes that al Qaida and its allies would have succeeded in launching another attack against the American homeland." -- The Most Evil Liar Their Is.

O.K; I, of all people, (Partially) agree with Helen. There should be an end to all these euphemisms, beating around the bush (pun fully intended) or whatever you would like to call it. The fact is these "enhanced interrogation techniques" should be called exactly what they are: torture.

Oh, and could someone verify the above claims?

Please put any claims (flames) that U.S. soldiers are just as bad if not worst than the terrori- err... freedom fighters and are complete hypocrites below.

Yeah teh terrorist or "freedom fighters" are a great group of people, while were trying them, they are cutting people heads off left and right and blowing up market places and their own place of worship just to kill thous Crusading infidels. --66.229.16.129 03:19, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning Ms. Thomas[edit]

I dislike her stance and her methods make me wince but I admire her guts and nerve. Way to be a true reporter. News Bug - (talk) 22:08, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flowers for a fine Lady[edit]

Thankyou to ALL for your wonderful gesture! Have been watching Helen Thomas since early sixties. She embodies the spirit of the free press. I am so proud of her.-- 4.228.129.116 01:30, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
