Really, is this necessary? I have two thoughts about time zones and daylight savings in general:
1) I've heard some report say, at least in the U.S., it doesn't help save electricity at all.
2) If businesses are really concerned about saving daylight hours, then they will change their hours. Imagine if the daylight time switched 10 hours. Do you really think that businesses would keep the same hours on such a schedule?

Half time zones
[edit]It appears there are other countries and regions with half-hour time zones: Newfoundland, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Burma, French Polynesia, part of Australia, and some very small island nations/regions. Even so one worries that somehow this will end up leading to a plane crash. While Venezuela is at the far edge of the UTC-4 zone, much of it seems fairly well situated right in the middle of the zone. Starting a daylight savings time procedure might have been a better option, but apparently none of the adjoining nations practice the scheme, so maybe that would have been more chaos. 70.15.116.59 19:40, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure I like this leader of a far-away oil-rich country currently at odds with the United States of America changing his time zone without my permission. Please, major news agencies, keep me updated on every little thing this evil man does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.95.237 (talk) 22:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
School times
[edit]Why not simply make school or the working day start half an hour later? 99.230.55.34 16:20, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Why Change Time?
[edit]Why Change Time? When I read this article last December, I thought why in the world would you change time. Forward it a bit, make it late, it does not make a difference.
If El Presidente Dictador Chavez would like to help the poor children, make the schools be near the Children, Leave our time tables ALONE!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.107.2.226 (talk) 10:21, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
