I was looking forward to this game. It does not mean we don't care. Does it mean we don't care about WWII when we play COD or other games? Hmm..

The only reason why Stop the War coalition is against this game because the US are good guys.--66.229.26.39 10:11, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Seriously.

[edit]

Why do you damn liberals have to ruin everything for people who look forward to video games because you are so damn wimpy and don't like the fact that we are posting a game that contains something that has to do with current events. Why can't you just mind your own business and let the damn world go on its course.. You have to ruin everything. EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO PLAY THAT GAME (if it was released, which it wasn't because of you douchebags) AND NOW ITS RUINED BECAUSE YOU COULDN"T JUST PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND SEE THE LIGHT OF FREEDOM. WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WERE YOU THINKING. DAMN IT. FUCK YOU LEFT WING BASTARDS! CENSORSHIP IS FOR THE WEAK!

Spare me. Censorship is usually right-wing stupidity. -Victor Sheckels @ 71.7.51.25 23:02, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Cap lock broken? And I'm not even going to read what you posted.--66.229.26.39 16:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Let me read this right--- The military families who paid the utmost price, and are protesting the release of this game... are left wing bastards?
so...im a conservative becuase i believe people should have the right to choose..oh wait! thats a liberal thing (pro-choice). shut up you stupid prick the republicans shut this game down, not us. and by the way maybe you should pull your head out your ass cus by your views on this article your a liberal, ahahaha jackass doesnt even know hes a lefty. also, the left-wing has never ruined anything, their only flaw is not doing enough to straighten out the shit that the right wing has ruined. and maybe next time you could be less of a dick to get your point across, maybe more people will listen, then again being eloquent, polite, and explanitory is a left-wing thing too soo...go back to your hole and stay out off the internet so we dont have to hear your stupidity anymore.

Should you really have dropped that many f-bombs? 199.196.144.11 16:13, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wow, look at the eloquent and well thought out arguments given to us by the American right. Good going, champ.--72.209.8.195 19:15, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wait, I thought war was a game? 24.30.16.34 00:47, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

To be honest this is very hypocrytical of games publishers. They are perfectly willing to "exploit" WW2 and Vietnam and even the Gulf War. But not this? Games are in no way as 2 dimesional as they used to be and if they had treated this with the same kindof attention paid to something like Company of Heroes then there would be absolutely no reason to not realease it.

On another note it is equally liberals and conservatives that have games banned. For example Liberals might have wanted GTA: San Andreas banned because of it's various depictions of drugs and crime. Conservatives might want it banned because of the various sex things that were included (see Hot Coffee Controversy).

Medal of Honor

[edit]

I don't see anyone complaining about the Medal of Honor series, some people like to get in a big fuss about nothing instead of worrying about the bigger issues.--CnrFallon (talk) 01:05, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ditto. I also don't see any body complaining about the movies "World Trade Center" or "United Flight 93". You could just as easily say that people unaffected by those incidents just get to sit and enjoy those "fun" movies.

Missing information

[edit]

This article saws nothing about whether or not the game is still being developed (the act of creating the program the game runs off of). All it says is that it no longer has a producer, a company that will fund the actual creation of disks and pay the company that developed the game for their work.

From what I can recall, the game is still being developed, and it isn't unheard of for a game to be droped from several producers before being released. I highly doubt this game won't get released. All these complaints have accomplished is a lower amount of quality for this game.

Another Game Banned

[edit]

Firstly i am a great fan of gaming. This does not make me evil, lazy, twisted or in any other way tainted as some people may believe.

So to the topic at hand, and you may or may not like this, i think it is shocking that these sort of games get banned.

How many people died in world war 1 and 2? Yet arguably the most popular games coming out at the moment are the likes of Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The game was given considerable praise, receiving an aggregated score of 94% from Game Rankings and 94% from Metacritic. The game won numerous awards from gaming websites, including IGN's Best Xbox 360 Game. It was the top-selling game worldwide for 2007, reaching over seven million copies by January 2008, and over ten million by June 2008.

I don't think the many fans of this series were too fussed that people actually died during the war it is quite obviously based on.

The only 2 reasons i can see for these sort of games getting banned are that it will affect the victims or their relatives, or it will "insult or influence people"

So to start with the victims, many of my family have been involved in the war, a relative of mine died during world war 2. And it doesn't traumatise me everytime i get myself a killstreak, or when i get enough headshots for a new camo on my weapon. It is ofcourse understandable to be extremely upset if a loved one is lost regardless of the situation, i am in no way saying that it isn't. But if the game bothers you that much, dare i say it, DONT BUY THE GAME.

This will innevitably lead on to fantastic games like little big planet recieving comments like "My lover/friend/relative died while trying to pin up a picture on top of the stairs so i want this game banned". Forgive me for still wanting to play my playstation.

The other possibility is that games will "Insult or influence" people. Lets take games like GTA and Manhunt for example. Manhunt wasn't particularly my cup of tea but was a good game in its own right, and anyone that hasn't been living under a rock for the last decade at least has seen, played or heard of GTA.

The arguments are almost always against the "Pointless killings" and extreme crimes that go unpunished to the point of being rewarded. Again, i can see your point and the next time one of my friends suggests stealing a car, buying (or just finding) a bazooka and commiting enough crimes that the Army send helicopters after us, just so we can shoot them out of the sky, i will write to a newspaper to express my disgust.

I think you need to actually play one of these games just to see how the whole processed is shown to be intentionally unrealistic. Even the story line was borderline insane. Man returns to old neighbourhood. Man rejoins old gang. Man takes over an entire state using graffiti and violence. Man buys out businesses using money he has made from committing petty crimes. Man then goes on to own casinos, find out that he's neighbourhood gang is being betrayed, uncovers a huge "Dirty cop" plot and solves it, kills the traitors of his "Crew" which now have a small army to hand, and man disappears into the sunset.

Yeah, i really thought that was a "How to" guide when i was playing it....

So to sum up i think the situation is that we have people that have realised there is a problem these days with escalated knifings etc. and have decided that the only way to solve it is to destroy what they believe is causing it, which happens to be the same thing that a majority of children/teenagers enjoy most.

If you prefer, we could all sell our TV's, Stereos, and computers and go out to meet the people that are really ruining our streets. Something tells me you would rather we were playing our Xbox's and Playstations at night.

Thanks for reading--193.202.105.10 (talk) 15:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Who cares what the families think, their not the ones paying money for entertainment. Konami just lost money. Good for them.

There are good free games

[edit]

There is no need to develop more paid-for games. There are thousands of good free games out there on the Internet and when you get bored of one or are waiting on a round-based one just go to another, such as sexpest13.mybrute.com for example. 76.73.1.50 (talk) 18:58, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

WOW

[edit]

Everyone is so angry they can't go buy this game, and who could blame them? Who doesn't want to kill lots of Iraqis? Who doesn't want to see these terrorists' blood ooze through the sand? Who isn't addicted to violence? Who does it not excite? I pray this game is released! I pray that you can safely rape and kill 14 year old girls from your very own sofa! God I pray that people will look inside themselves, think for themselves, and support any war for financial gain we can throw ourselves at! support brainwashing and complete negligence
