Poorly designed harbor
[edit]As Lori Dengler pointed out, the Crescent City Harbor appears poorly designed. Note the approximately parabolic shape, and the breakwater oriented to capture and reflect rather than to deflect... There are multiple opportunities for constructive interference of traveling waves. On top of that, there were boats that were moored improperly (in one case it appears that a mooring line ran UNDER and across one boat, causing it to be flipped when the boat and dock began to rock out of phase). 131.215.115.31 (talk) 15:48, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Can't believe it

How is that they never recovered in forty-seven years, don't you think that is an enormous period of time like to recover not only that town/city but many others, and continue their way as before the tsunami? - Most definately. However, the reconstruction of everything takes a while. Where I lived we had two devastating floods in 2001 and 2002, most of the people moved away, and we are still demolishing homes from it. Do you remember Hurricane Katrina in 2005? They are still rebuilding homes, and some still live in there emergency trailers. The United States, in my opinion, is so large that it does take a while for the area affected to receive money to rebuild. With prices increasing, it makes it harder.
