The State Department should have said they suspected Clinton, Obama, and McCain of terrorist activities. Doesn't invoking the Patriot Act always make good cover?
I find it ironic that every major rag in my country (US) is up in arms about this "security breach", but this kind of thing happens every day to "normal" US citizens. Passport file breaching, illegal wiretapping...these are just two of many ways that US citizens have lost their right to privacy since 9/11.
I say take McCain to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and interrogate him without probable cause. Then again, that would leave the field open for Huckabee and Romney to restart their efforts....
