I think it's rather late for the USA to do a right thing such as that, however, it's never too late for them to apologise for their paranoea and obvious stupidity.I wonder if all the South AFrican Apartheid Helders like Wouter Bason and F.W De Klerk, are on that list, because they too have an outmost potential. It's rather a shame for the world not to know who to stigmatise-but again as long as you are black or Muslim, you are a terrorrist.

[edit]It's about time! It's an embarassment to us as a NATION, supposedly dedicated to the principals of freedom and democracy, to put a man who fought for and embodied those principals on a TERRORIST list! At least this was done during Mandela's lifetime. Galileo wasn't pardoned until 500 YEARS after his death! Nothing like doing the right thing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.69.139.141 (talk) 21:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
ONE MORE...ANOTHER ABUSE
[edit]Yes, One more thing for which the US government must be blamed. Point to Mandela for so many years has no excuse. Didn't these woman noticed that before?? Who are these people to decide who is a terrorist and who is not??

- The highest responsibility of a government is to the safety of its citizens; the military and police are among the most universal parts of a government. As such, it behooves a government to monitor its borders and prevent the entrance of those who would harm its citizens. That's why those people are to decide who is a threat (which include terrorists) and who isn't.--Prosfilaes (talk) 15:03, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- Pretty incompetent people you've got there. They kept Nelson Mandela on this list for what reason? --Brian McNeil / talk 15:18, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- That's completely irrelevant to my response to the question of why they are making a list. And if your goal is security, there's no reason to ever take anyone off the list, as admitting someone never improves your security. An active review would take manpower that could be used elsewhere. And if you ever remove someone from that list who later kills someone, you get the backlash and arguably some of the responsibility. So I don't see any incompetence at all in this.--Prosfilaes (talk) 19:02, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Mandela finally jailed because of the CIA.
[edit]The most important part of this story would be to mention that Mandela was captured in 1962 by the apartheid government thanks to their very good friends the CIA, who in turn received their power from the voters in the USA. The same CIA agent "came out of retirement in 1985 to help the white regime neutralize anti-apartheid activists". Source: Stein, Jeff (1996-11-14). Our man in South Africa. Salon.com.
