The unique point about this election is that voting is almost the last remaining right exerciseable by all Oxford University graduates, as members of the ancient Convocation.
The requirement of voting in person at Oxford used to prevent erratic results; but since the election has frequently produced controversial results, and has now failed to produce an effective appointment, this strategy is inadequate.
It is hard to see how an internet franchise will improve the interests of Poetry! 78.147.11.118 (talk) 18:46, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
