The president of Somalia has no actual ruling power in the country and has been put into place after a conference led by the U.N. The government has only recently moved in to Somalia and functions outside of the capital. He uses U.S. styled rhetoric, such as claiming that Al Shabab is affiliated with Al-Qaeda which only the U.S. dep. of homeland security has published (without any backing evidence). It would be nice if the stories on Somalia here would be a little more filled with reactions from the actual leaders of Somalia: Somaliland and the Islamic Courts Union. More information accurate information on Somalia may be attained from the Reuters page. Better yet, however, are more recently academic articles on Somalia, the Islamic Courts Union, Somaliland, Anarchy in Somalia, and the Transitional Federal Government. - Couldn't you make such articles? Fephisto (talk) 14:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- yes, I suppose I will. However, do I edit a recently published story to include more information or write my own news report from scratch? I suppose that is up to me... Vblanton (talk) 21:52, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
