I think this is a horrific tragedy. I can't believe that having sex is more important than saving your life from an oncoming train. Maybe the man that died was not in his right state of mind or maybe he was. Who to say? Sounds to me like suicide. I mean, there's no *missing* the fact that a train is speeding toward you, and it's not like steel railroad tracks over wood and rocks is the most comfortable place to get it on in the first place.
