Chicago River dyed green for St. Patrick's day
[edit]Dead fish notwithstanding, the colourful addition to the city's celebration of St. Patrick's day was generally welcomed. A number of local fishermen expressed concern at the colouration of the river until it was pointed out to them that O'Malley's on fifth street was selling Guiness at half price. This news titbit prompted a mass-exodus from the riverbanks, with rods and tackle abandoned in-situ.
