This is an interesting new bill that they are proposing because on the one hand, it requires too much funding, which at a time of high debt, the government cannot - or should not - afford. However, on the other hand, if the government really wants to mandate health insurance, then they should spend more money to make it more affordable to families in the US. When people have to pay between 1000-3000 dollars for a health plan which they didn't originally anticipate using, the government will definitely experience some resistance from the public.
