On October 9, 2024, the Internet Archive was hacked by A hacker group known as "SN_BLACKMETA". Over 31 million credentials were leaked including Emails, Screen names, and passwords. Recently, The Wayback Machine has been brought back online in a provisional, read-only status. Internet Archive CEO Brewster Cahle says: "[The archive is] safe to resume but might need further maintenance, in which case it will be suspended again" Hopefully, the archive will be back online soon, and the Stolen Credentials will be recovered.
