Former deputy president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, has been charged with rape and has appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's court. Zuma has been released on R20 000 bail.
He has since announced that he has voluntarily decided to suspend his participation in the ANC leadership structure during the trial.
