The last civilian hospital has been closed in Darfur, Sudan. The hospital is located in El Fasher, the last city in Darfur province still controlled by the Sudanese Armed Forces. The Rapid Support Forces raided and looted the hospital. At the time of the attack, there were ten patients and a small number of medical staff remaining. Most of the patients and personnel managed to escape the hospital.
The RSF was accused by the SAF of attacking the village of Wad al-Nourah on June 5, which caused the deaths of many people. The conflict between the RSF and SAF has been ongoing since April 2023 and has caused the death of at least tens of thousands of people and the internal displacement of millions.
