MediaWiki:Movepagetext

From Wikinews, the free news source you can write!
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Using the form below will rename a page, moving all of its history to the new headline. The old headline or name will become a redirect page to the new name or headline.

Read this!

Links to the old page name will not be changed; be sure to check for and fix double or broken redirects by checking the "What links here" page for your newly renamed article. You are responsible for making sure that links continue to point where they are supposed to go. Note this is only for redirect pages (look for #REDIRECT[[blah]]), normal links are fine.

Note that the page will not be moved if there is already a page at the new headline, unless it is empty or a redirect and has no past edit history. This means that you can rename a page back to where it was just renamed from if you make a mistake, but you cannot over-write an existing page.

WARNING! Please be sure you understand the Wikinews:Style_guide#Headlines guidelines for headlines before proceeding. Also make sure to also move Comment:<whatever page this is> if it exists (you should be prompted after moving this page if other pages need to be moved).
