Symbol

Not sure what symbol to use so i used the one used on wikipedia (Mosque). Alternate is the star and cresent, but wikipedia says its not actually a symbol of Islam but of the Ottoman Empire (right beside a Cite sources notice). see commons:Category:Islam for more Bawolff ☺☻ 02:05, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Islam is religiously opposed to representative symbolism. Please see my comments on Talk:Religion. It would be impossible to adequately represent the many competitive and/or divergent views of Islam on a single portal; trying to do so is inherently POV. - Amgine / ^talk 03:36, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
