A 1,500 pound scissor lift fell on top of a male contractor in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida outside of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on Monday morning. He was trying to load the lift onto a flatbed truck. He was found at the scene as workers and officers pulled the equipment off him but died shortly after.
He has not been named yet but he is in his fifties and from Martin County. The company he worked for was not at the Kravis Center as police are unsure what company he did work for. His family will be notified and no further information regarding the man is known.
The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating. Police let the Federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration know about the death.
