Flood water should be treated as a pool - Chlorinate
[edit]So long as there are people in there, the flood water ought to be treated with chlorine. Benjamin Gatti
- That's amazing. I think that's actually the stupidest thing I've ever heard a human being say. -70.146.39.112 09:12, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
- I dunno. Wait until Bush says the environment is still not on the agenda... In any event, with the recent explosions allegedly taking place at a chemical plant : is this story affected?
- I'm still trying to dig up details on the chemical plant (if that's what they were) explosions. I don't think they'll affect the core of the story unless they were something particularly nasty and toxic. --cmpalmer 18:39, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
- This story Oil Spill on Mississippi suggests a large oil spill downstream from New Orleans. --cmpalmer 19:14, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

Toxic stew
[edit]The article mentioned several things, such as gasoline and cleaners, but omitted that some of these (such as detergents and gasoline) will destroy each other. The local concentrations of various materials would make more of a "toxic stew", although wading in a bubble bath is somewhat less toxic than some other materials which may be dominant elsewhere. And wading is somewhat different than drinking. (SEWilco 03:48, 3 September 2005 (UTC))
