Sorry: officially opened? How about "proclaimed open" as in Olympic Charter - Article 56, or mentioning the Olympic flame? http://multimedia.olympic.org/pdf/en_report_122.pdf (PDF p.104=Orig. p.103). Soccer matches before the ceremony were also official. : by D-H —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dumpty-Humpty (talkcontribs)

reviewing[edit]

Sources don't mention anything about "There were several performances, including a 100+ member troupe of Taiwanese dancers and Chinese pop group A-One. There were also solo performances by Lang Lang, Sarah Brightman, and Liu Huan." --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 05:48, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is suppose to be partly OR as well. I dunno how we verify that though:P. Gopher65talk 05:59, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Readers may well wonder whether those performances were done as scheduled. We'd better withdraw the part if we can not find good sources (or check it on the video) soon. Currently we have only old-date sources on them. --Dumpty-Humpty (talk) 07:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
At least temporarily we can probably find some sort of video on a new site that verifies it, at least the TV news in my country mentioned some of it. Watching the event live is the current OR source I believe. TheFearow (userpage) 07:22, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If the article is meant to be partial OR, there should be a statement here about that - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 08:04, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Typo[edit]

{{editprotected}} One of the sources has a date that says 'Feburary' instead of 'February'. Van der Hoorn (talk) 13:36, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
