Other countries[edit]

Very little info out there about which other countries are involved no? --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 18:47, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no obvious press information about what other countries are involved (the Toronto Star mentioned something about 'not sure about what the Canadian involvement was' type thing), so I guess that's a kind of @kudos to anyone who finds anything on the subject' type situation. Still, with 200/700 Brits (I'm so ashamed I'm Brittish all of a sudden... I think I might emigrate somewhere more civilized, and with decent music, too) we can assume that it's mainly a Brittish thing; I'd be surprised if any other countries had such a large number of people involved. Children[edit]

I have been trying to find out what the "rescued children" is supposed to mean. Does anybody have any information about this? What does "rescued" and "abuse" mean in this context? 130.235.16.196 11:00, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would say "abuse" is sexual abuse, presumably, from what has been said in the media, at a quite horrific nature; innapropriate images and videos been taken of them, possibly going as far as rape, and certainly some mention has been made of "sex attacks". Also, I would think "rescued" means that the police have stepped in and arrested the specific abusers of these children, and placed them into government-funded care if nescescary. Hope that helps. Well, it helps if it's true. But if I read you correctly you're just speculating, right? I would really like to actually know what kind of abuse we are talking about, since the term covers so much. And I am incredibly curious about "rescue". Have 31 children been freed from damp cellars where they were kept and raped for months? Or have 31 peeping Toms who took and distributed pictures of their neighbour's kids playing naked in the garden been put in jail? Or is it somewhere in beetween? The only thing I am quite sure about is that the investigating force uses language that puts their achievement in as favourable terms as possible. 83.254.157.130 20:23, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
