Missing man formation[edit]

Can someone check out a possible discrepancy? I added the image from Flickr (uploaded to Commons) that apparently shows the missing man formation. It shows six aircraft, with a spot for the seventh (missing), but this article says two Spitfires flew the missing man formation (from BBC source it seems). Not sure which is correct, but just logically it would seem that two planes don't really make a formation? Jcart1534 12:42, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have fiddled it to conviniently not say how many aircraft flew the formation. It struck me as odd at the time, my understanding was that the formation required a minimum of four aircraft. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 13:53, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
