Probably needs some quotes and stuff, but such things can accumulate slowly. Nyarlathotep 11:44, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Where did this come from?

[edit]

However, the system is setup to be triggered when a key word is said. When a second key word is said, the system begins to record your conversation, and the names of both parties go on 'the list'. This method is strictly againt the constitution, because it allows anyone in the entire country to become suspect.

I haven't heard that anywhere, and it isn't in the linked source. Did I miss a story? Ajohnson 16:14, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

AFAICT, this is a myth that has been widely reported, however like you, I am unable to find a source to confirm it. (Technologically, it is possible - but that doesn't mean it is in practice). --MrMiscellanious (talk) – 21:52, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
I removed that line as its not supporterd by the source below. Nyarlathotep 11:38, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article explains techniques of the eavesdropping in quite a bit more detail and might be useful as a source (though it makes no mention of "after two keywords, the conversation is recorded").

Have you seen the source document from the ABA or is this all second hand news? I don't see any reference to it?-Drew 18:50, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
