I removed two POV lines from the article. From the Wikipedia article regarding Atkins' weight at death:

"Interestingly, Atkins' medical records also stated he was clinically obese at the time of his death, weighing approximately 260 lb (118 kg). However, this was likely due to fluid retention following the failure of his major organs after his fall. Medical records obtained by USA Today show his weight to be 195 lb (88 kg) upon admission to the hospital following his fall on April 8, 2003."

So stating his weight at death without context is pretty disingenuous. And even with context, irrelevant for this article. - 71.105.76.98 22:16, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I also removed the part "Long touted as a perfect diet by film stars, pop artists and the fast food industry," which is clearly meant to delegitimize the diet by associating it with certain groups. The article itself states there are 30 million followers in the U.S. so clearly it's more than just "film starts, pop artists and the fast food industry" supporting the diet. - 71.105.76.98 22:30, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

But many of those 3om would have started it on the basis that it has worked for famous people. It is well known that most diets only catch on after celebraty endoursement whether it is the GI Diet or the Atkins diet. (preceding unsigned comment made by CGorman)

Atkins Out of Bankruptcy[edit]

A company unaffiliated with Dr. Atkins has emerged from bankruptcy. His wife now runs the Foundation. Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. makes nutritional bars and shakes that include protein and fiber, but keep the lower carbohydrates and lose the transfats.
