Original reporting

[edit]

Written mainly from parliament's hansard. The Daily Telegraph article was used to cite Ms Gillard's comments after she was ejected from parliament - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 13:10, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Title?

[edit]

The article seems to be more about the House dissolving into a verbal fight then the Speaker being partial, granted however I'm used to Speakers who are under no obligation to be impartial, so I could just be misreading it ;). 68.39.174.238 14:39, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It probably is more so about the house descending into anarchy but that happens so often I didnt think it would be notable LOL. Anyways, do you have a suggestion? - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 22:56, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
On a related note, the title seems to indicate (to me at least) that someone actually said the speaker was "not impartial". However I can't seem to find any reference to that in the two sources? Should the quotes be removed? R2b2 23:03, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have changed the title to Australian house of representatives has "no rules": Gillard, it is more suitable and explains the situation better while still being generic - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 01:21, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'd changed it to something like "Verbal ruckus in the Australian House of Representants; four Oppositions members expeled", however I'm not sure if "ruckus" is admissible for an articel title! Anyway, the current one is better then the previous and does make it seem more noteworthy. 68.39.174.238 04:21, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The article needs to be moved to "Australian House of Representatives has "no rules": Gillard". Dysprosia 09:57, 18 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Furthermore, it's Division of Wannon, not Division of Wannor. Dysprosia 12:48, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Grub, not idiot

[edit]

Gillard called him a grub, not an idiot ('I move that that sniveling grub over there be not further heard'), and followed it up with an 'apology', Australian style ('If I have offended grubs, I withdraw unconditionally'); Ref: Townhall, Washington Post, et. al.

That was a separate incident. Dysprosia 09:49, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
