Calling on peace and so on...[edit]

President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, president of national assembly Oliver Dulic and a couple of ministers called on peace. High representative of Serbian Radical Party, Aleksandar Vucic, said that "those who provoked Serbian people are equally responsible for destruction as rioters are". --millosh (talk) 21:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tear gas[edit]

Police attacked rioters with a huge amounts of tear gas. Heavy pollution with tear gas was affected a couple of blocks (100-200 meters, but I'll take a look at Google Earth for the exact distance) up on Vracar hill. --millosh (talk) 21:38, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Distance is around 350 meters. --millosh (talk) 21:46, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More on robberies[edit]

A number of foreign banks were attacked, too. --millosh (talk) 21:40, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A part of chronology[edit]

  • 17:00 meeting beguns
  • 18:00 meeting ends
  • 18:00 attacked Turkish embassy
  • 18:15 attacked US and Croatian embassy
  • 19:00 police intervention with a lot of tear gas
  • up to 22:00 riots all over the Belgrade's downtown
  • around 22:00 situation under control, but rioters are still in small streets

So, this is the main timeline. --millosh (talk) 22:00, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably already been answered on IRC, but "fire brigade" is understandable and British/Commonwealthy. The United States uses "fire department", I think "Fire Service" is the Israeli term. Probably a list of the distribution of names somewhere. Anyway, nice 1sthand reporting. I hope that, in the unlikely chance, if I am near something newsworthy, I'll be able to return the favor to the site. 68.39.174.238 03:47, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
