The passage from the bible seems to prohibit vampirism / cannibalism. If taken figuratively it more likely prohibits the consumption of meat (animal flesh). Are there better examples from the bible to reinforce the blood transfusion restriction? 151.191.175.195 20:03, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bible reading[edit]

Quote

When asked why the sect refuses blood transfusions, spokesman Mark Ruge directed reporters to the Jehovah's Witnesses website. On it, the group cites Bible passages to back up their belief, from Canada.com.

The bible reading from watchtower.org should be used in this article. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 21:08, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other Bible passage[edit]

The command to Noah included human blood. Poeple today think in technicalities. It doesn't mention transfusions but that is hardly the point. The Noah command specifically does state that the blood of anything is to be poured out because God is asking it back. Blood plays a central role on the symbolism of the Bible as well. All the sacrifices of the Mosaic law were unable to provide relief from sin but Jesus' shed blood was. God has made blood off limits for us to use. George m 22:43, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
