Talk:Council pres. removes Easter bunny from St. Paul, MN city hall
Add topicIt does seem a big premature to go right ahead and remove an item that has grown upon all children, Christian or not.
It would be like removing the days of the week, because they were named after gods. Wednesday and Thursday mainly, as Woden's Day and Thor's Day, respectively, because it might offend another religion or non-religious people.
As with the days of the week and the easter bunny in the city hall, there were no objections to it being there.
Furthermore, anyone having such an objection, in reference to being offended by a bunny, might just need to leave that town, and most others too. :-)

Silly rituals that Jesus would have likely spurned
[edit]I find it so outrageous and borderline blasphamous; the embracement of materialism and goofyness by "Christians" to celebrate Jesus's birth and death. From my readings of what Christ actually said; he was not into nonsense or fairy tales like santa claus and easter bunnies...in fact, I can't imagine that a date on the callendar would carry any meaning at all to Him. Therefore, I see the bunny in the city hall at easter as having no more religious meaning than a hamster in a cage at the Superbowl. Neutralizer 14:48, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree with MrM. The page is marked "discussion" and it is natural for people to comment on the news, not just on the news article. -- IlyaHaykinson 23:58, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- No, they are here for the development of the article, not for discussion. That is left to blogs, forums, chat rooms, not here. To further this claim, see WN:NOT:
Ummm... yeah
[edit]I'm going to have to agree with Bryan, and furthermore, disagree with MrM.
Basically, this is here to discuss the article. It's just another name for comments, except discussion means that it can be used to help improve the article in question.
As long as I've been reading these articles, this kind of commenting has been going on. So why try to get a hissy fit over it now, MrM? It seems rather odd, indeed.
Oh well, I'll remain neutral on the topic. Bunnies never offended me though.
Hope this tilde stuff works... here we go: Wizardx 07:41, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- Because we are not here to violate policy. WN:NOT prohibits it. --MrMiscellanious (talk) – 16:22, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
