Spelling fix?
[edit]I changed, “unfavourably” to, “unfavorably” to fix spelling. I now realize, however, that this could have been a British spelling, if so feel free to revert. MyName 14:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]article largely recounts one individual's opinion and makes no effort to offer other perspectives. also, needs to mention who is Dr. Azmi Bishara? Doldrums 07:38, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- found info on Bishara and added Israel comments. Neutralizer 12:13, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- currently, the reported Israel comment is not adequate for balance nor is it a fair summary of Israel's position on the current conflict. either we get a direct rebuttal of Bishara's comment by other political parties or the gov't, or present the gov't position on why it is doing what it is, and how what it is doing is good enuf to accomplish its aims. - ok; added some more about Israel's position but must go to work now. Neutralizer 12:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- presented Israeli gov't posiion per Doldrums(see edit 2 above). Neutralizer 18:02, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

- I put back to develop as opposed to re-adding the NPOV tag, this looks like something interesting and I'd like to read the sources and then comment or edit. As it stands there's a lengthy and convoluted quote at the end which makes the whole thing difficult to follow. --Brian McNeil / talk 18:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I am part-way through reading The Hiroshima of Our Times and I've come to the conclusion that any article reporting on this editorial needs to repeatedly emphasise that the opinion that the Israelis are stupid and such is not an opinion of wikinews. This is one person, who you have to devote a paragraph to introducing, expressing his opinion. What I took the publish tag off wasn't clear enough in that. --Brian McNeil / talk 19:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- a short history of the article (for anyone who wants to know):
- reported B.'s comments[1]
- i tagged npov, pending rebuttals or contrasting views
- neut has tried to add the israeli govt position before B.'s comment, the article reached its current stage, and it's no longer clear what is the focus of the article.

- I have learned about another party in this mess, I'm wondering if I need to read archived versions of the article. --Brian McNeil / talk 19:39, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- all i can suggest right now is a complete rewrite (which i'm not going to do :P). i'm not convinced that Bishara's article or views are adequately summarised in the excerpts chosen, am not convinced that the Israel position reported here actually rebutt much of Bishara's arguments. and we'll need a fair bit of context re. Bishara before his comments make sense to people (like me) who're not well-versed in their Israel politics. it'd also be nice (even necessary, perhaps) to report what the entire spectrum of Israeli parties have to say about the conflict, for npov to be reached. and frankly, it's all looking like too much work. headline??
[edit]is this a good headline? i mean, its easy to assume that it's the israel-hezbolla one, but there is a lot of conflict in the world, currently, and i think the headline should be more specific. Philmcl 18:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Good Point, especially for a newbie :) Anybody have an objection with me naming it "Current Israel Hezbollah conflict being compared with "Operation Grapes of Wrath"?" MyName 18:16, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
