200 people? I don't even see how this is news, I mean if 200 people gathered for dissdent in the US who would care? There's no real doubt that in any country at least 200 people don't like the current countries situation, this isn't a big suprise or anything. 135.214.66.240 20:13, May 23, 2005 (UTC)

This is news[edit]

First of all, it has acquired attention from both President Bush and Congress. Second, this is a sign of progress in Cuba. Under a regime like that of Fidel Castro, stuff like this just doesn't happen. It could be a sign of a possible revolution in Cuba. NGerda 05:51, May 24, 2005 (UTC)

I also agree its important. Either it exposes that a lot of us have a false impression about the existing level of freedom of speech (0 we think)in Cuba or it means Castro is loosening the controls over speech, or it means 200 people are risking jail by speaking out.
