Original reporting[edit]

I was on scene for the incident and spoke to witnesses, took photos, etc. Interestingly witnesses seemed happier talking to me than the journalist from the local newspaper, he couldn't get any information from them! - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal)

Wackynews[edit]

Should this be tagged as Wackynews? - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 04:28, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see anything wacky about it.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 17:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This is NOT international news. It's an embarrassment to the Wikinews.org site and concept. You are abusing an international forum. If you don't change your ways you deserve to have your edit privileges revoked. 71.139.199.217 06:32, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And you would be? How do you suggest the article be fixed? - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 08:56, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is not a relevant article. From Wikinews:Content_guide: "News is relevant. Being Wikinews — global and Internet-based — stories about local news may need to have their relevance explained for our international audience. Stories should appeal to a large number of people."
Given that this is an extremely local story, no one was injured, and there is absolutely zero global impact, I don't think it's newsworthy. You said you were going to wait for consensus before publication, but no one else at all weighed in before it was published. Demiquave 14:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wikinews is open for local news as long as it is explained. We are not that big that we can already move these stories to local pages, but that will be a future option.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 17:06, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hold Publication[edit]

Given Mr anonymous' complaint I shall seek consensus if this should be published - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 08:58, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
