Terrorist angle needs confirmation
[edit]- Terrorist angle needs confirmation. --Psusen 15:44, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- Perhaps a less-assuming-and-more-factual headline would be Explosions rock New Delhi market place Karen 20:10, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- It seems fairly certain that these explosions were a terrorist act. These last two sentences are supported by listed sources.
- The blasts were most likely masterminded by Lashkar-e-Toiba, a terrorist group supported by Pakistan. The blast had all the hallmarks of being carried out by well-funded terrorist groups supported by Pakistan.
- Delhi was the location of a terrorist attack in December 2001. The 2001 event was blamed on Islamic militant groups backed by Pakistan.
- However, I did add a statement made by Pakistan forien minister for more NPOV. Karen 03:51, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
Excuse me, but Pakistan does not support any terrorist groups. Infact, a number of such groups have banned in the past. This article is not NPOV.
- If you really feel there's a point-of-view issue, then flag the story and go on to explain why. The story says Pakistan does not support any terrorists groups: "Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attacks in Delhi, which have resulted in the loss of a number of innocent lives." Giving statements from all sides is pretty much a neutral point of view. Add more points of view, perhaps that would help. Karen 17:08, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
Similar story merged
[edit]- New_Delhi_terrorist_attacks story is actually a bit more detailed - perhaps these two stories can be merged. Karen 20:10, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
- I just renamed the headline and merged the stories after unpublishing the later story - hopefully I did everything correctly and in good judgement. Karen 20:35, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
Assertion by Inquilab
[edit]Here is the source saying Inquilab asserted these attacks: [1] (in french, sorry). --82.227.246.168 13:33, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
Why was this story breaking news for so long?
[edit]I had to go to another source to see if there were new explosions. Change the front page.
- It's breaking news until someone removes the breaking news template. I stated on IRC that since the story which was merged to this story was breaking news, I set the breaking news flag on the story and that it should be removed when no more new information was "breaking". Fact checking
[edit]I don't see a BBC source which states 10 people have been detained. Can someone check again whether that factual statement is sourced? - Amgine / talk 19:27, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
