Well Health is the most "appropriate" category, however, his illness has nothing to do with politics or conflicts. Breaking defines IMO an event thats taking place as we speak and has limited information that could change...given his state and "deteoriation" I would say this is breaking news. With that said, breaking news is "just in" news and etc...whether the article will change or not. IMO Breaking news is what affects the worlds population the most at the time.
