Great content[edit]

Keep all the images on page and see how many we can fit around the content. If it looks messy we might have to shuffle around. Ealturner 21:40, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, and IIRC that refs were all Argentine xcpt for the 4th and 5th. ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 21:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC) Refs taken care of. ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 21:55, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image gallery[edit]

Sorry, I didn't think properly about this. Sounds a good idea. How do you set one up? Ealturner 22:34, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Animated GIF[edit]

I'm not sure that the animated GIF fits in as it detracts from the article (you end up looking at that rather than the main purpose of the page). Also its quite large for those still on slower speed internet... Anyone else have an opinion? R2b2 21:43, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let's wait to the end. I like it. I also have a gif of Zidane's headbutt. This could be a large article, might take a couple of hours. Don't rush it. Ealturner 21:47, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good point about those with low speed connections. Certainly if we have one we can't have more than one animation displayed. Maybe we can link them. Ealturner 21:58, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Let's set up an image gallery - They're great shots. But I wonder, can we use MPEG or some codec other than anim GIFs? ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 21:59, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Put the images and gifts here. Ealturner 22:02, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think animated .gifs got anything to do in a Wikinews article. It's just annoying (and of course bandwidth consuming). Jimbo would kill a kitten if he saw an animation in a Wikimedia article ;-p --Jambalaya 22:43, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a style issue. What "Jimbo" thinks of an animation or a video has nothing to do with how we provide this video -- that's what's at issue, IMO.
We have the footage. Let's put it to use. ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 23:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Formations/Cards[edit]

Shouldn't the minute of the goals scored be included in the Formations section? We list the minute of the cards given, why not goals? ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 22:15, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The minutes aren't there because the time of goal information is in the match box. It would make the graphic look messy if we duplicated it in formations sections Ealturner 22:24, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn't thought of that. Sounds reasonable. ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 23:43, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zidane video[edit]

I presume this cannot be used? I think it's a short clip taken with a digicam of a tv transmission. Or maybe it can be used? I'm just being hopeful. [1]

If you can find out who uploaded it and what the original copryright info is, then maybe it can be used. Link to it in the meantime. ▪ NeoAmsterdamTalkEdits 23:44, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've published. I don't like my writing very much, I need some time away and a clear head. Publishing might give it more attention too. Facts of the article seem to be in place. Ealturner 00:47, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Zidane video is a bit short, it does just show his fault not what appends before, Jacques Divol 08:48, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gifs next to Ref's name[edit]

What? The ref got a yellow card and a red card? I know what this is trying to say (I think), but it looks odd IMO when compared to the convention for indicating if a player was carded. --24.91.124.228 20:24, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
