- Court case
- Chef Port, 41, initially charged 2015-10-18 with 4 murder and 4 poisoning charges to which he did not plead not guilty until 2016-07.
- Delays were caused by post-charge investigations. (Unsupported assertion; may be misplace?)
- By July additional charges - 6 poisoning, 7 rape, and 4 sexual assault - involving 8 additional victims in his alleged practice of contacting men online, arranging meetings when he would administer sometimes lethal doses of GHB.
- Three bodies found in 2014, one in 2015.
- Metro Police has referred itself to IPCC over failures - they did not link the four deaths until 2015-10.
- Police appealed to the public, with CCTV footage, before and after Port's arrest. (When?)
- Jury instructed by prosecuting QC to face graphic evidence in "a cool, dispassionate and analytical manner" in the Old Bailey.
- CCTV of Port and Taylor was shown in court, as were online messages and [evidence?] Port blocked Taylor's account and deleted his own after their scheduled meeting.
- Port served 8 months in 2015 for lying in the investigation of the death of Walgate, a prostitute, who Port initially claimed not to know and later said Walgate took drugs in his flat, and whose body he had moved out of his flat before calling 999.
- Prosecutors pointed out inconsistencies in Port's version of events, played the 999 call for the jury
- The bodies of Whitworth and Kovari were found in the same place, 500 m from Port's residence, a month apart by the same woman
- Evidence at the scene for both suggested Port's involvement, but police accepted the prima facie evidence that Whitworth was responsible for the muder of Kovari.
- Chef Port, 41, initially charged 2015-10-18 with 4 murder and 4 poisoning charges to which he did not plead not guilty until 2016-07.
