Wikinews articles reach a global audience. so it is essential that sufficient context be added to articles to allow it to be understood by someone who is not familiar with the context of the new event. this can be fixed by such things as
- mentioning the country in which event is taking place in the lead (first) paragraph itself.
- add wikilinks to terms which are likely to be unfamiliar to many readers
- providing a brief "definition" of organisations/people..etc involved in the story. (eg. "The BJYM, the the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party...".)
- identify places similarly, (eg. "in Lucknow, the capital city of the state of Bihar, in northern India")
