Isn't it too soon to say for sure?

[edit]

I think there will be a court challenge and maybe a recount. This could turn out like Florida in 2000. I prefer to use the term "declared winner" if that's ok? Neutralizer 22:35, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I was trying, however, to avoid a passive construction in the headline. What about something like Mexican conservative claims victory in presidential election? (I won't sweat "declared winner" though.) --Birdmessenger 22:44, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nobody has won the elections!

[edit]

There is no winner in the elections until the Federal Electoral Tribunal states. Until this happens the tile "Mexican conservative wins presidential election" is premature. How about something such as "Mexican conservative gets greatest votes in election"
