I remember when the first sputnik went up; me and my friends thought it was kinda a cool scientific achievement. Then , when we went to school and after the pledge of allegiance and star spangled banner and the Lord's prayer, our 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Cheeves, told us it was a disaster because now the "brainwashed" commies could drop bombs on our heads from outer space and we were so far behind in the "space race".Paulrevere2005 02:58, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Most governments in this world are brainwashing citizens in some extent. Just look at how Bush is cheating on the reasons of invasion to Iraq. But I do agree some countries are doing more :-).
