Talk:New South Wales Liberal leader attempts suicide
I'm not sure it's appropiate to report this. I mean, this guy resigned from a public office, he chose to leave the media spotlight and should be left alone now. His private life and problems don't concern the public IMHO and puts us in the danger of turning very yellow-press like. --Deprifry 11:10, September 5, 2005 (UTC)
- The issue is that we were perfectly within in line if we were to have reported this when it happened. We didn't, now we have an article on the event. Observe the article is backdated. What would be out of line is to pull a Telegraph and to keep going at it again, reporting on fresh allegations, etc.
- Furthermore, to deal with the Tony Abbott story, one should make a reference to past events. One can't say Abbott said something insensitive re. Brogden and then don't say what happened to Brogden. It's a matter of completeness. Dysprosia 04:22, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
