Talk:Oxford march supports animal testing
Add topicI was present at the protest below - so a lot of it is eyewitness reporting. Make of that what you will! --Mark1987 03:32, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
Sfullenwider - I noted your points re NPOV. However, there is naturally going to be a slant towards PRO-test in this article as:
1) there was a much, much bigger turnout.[1] The official police figure is 600, but the organisers claim that no less than 700 people were marching at any time and that total attendance was over 1,000. That's 4x greater. I guess it would be similar (though not to the same level) as giving the pro-Iraq war demonstrators as much space as the anti-Iraq demonstrators on the 15th February 2003.
2) SPEAK demonstrate frequently but never to the same levels here. Further, the demonstration today was absolutely peaceful (at least on the PRO-test side), whereas SPEAK and groups affiliated to them often engage in abusive, insulting or sometimes down-right illegal methods to get their point across.
However, even taking these two points into consideration, the article probably is slightly more slanted towards the PRO-test side. Maybe you could suggest some changes that could help it become more NPOV?

Maybe a good choice for featured article? Nyarlathotep 20:47, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
nitpicks
[edit]A nitpick. The link to the crowd being addressed by Neurosurgeon Tipu Aziz et al is POV as it's from one of the groups. It would be better to include a link from a source neutral to both parties. Also, many of the other links should be placed in the sources section. Other than that the article looks good. I'm glad to have you with us Mark1987 and I hope you write many more articles! --Sfullenwider 02:19, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
