September[edit]

I think when the article says september it actually means the ATI GPU program for PCs

So, does this mean wiki is a place for corporate hype? This article is crap

In what way, and where does ATI come into this? --Errant 14:07, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OR[edit]

I wrote an article about folding for w:Micro Mart about folding (published febuary this year) - is the citeable as a source and can I write extra details to expand upon it (as a source) as an expert on this subject - does that need special tagging --Errant 14:17, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Although I could source some of the original sources of info I used for the article :D duh! --Errant 14:23, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interview[edit]

Ok Im going to get and inmporve this article now, but just to let people to know that I requested an Interview with professor pande - who's tem run the folding project - both for an article here and in Micro Mart. Here is a copy of the preliminary email I sent to him, I will also post it on the article talk page whenb I write it! lets hope he reponds:

Hi,

My name is Thomas Morton and I am an Independent reporter for the English version of wiknews, a free online news source (sister of wikipedia) as well as a contributor to British weekly computer magazine Micro Mart I also (incidentally) run a folding@home rig - but that is of little relevance.

The imminent release of the PS3 client is an exciting piece of news and, as an enthusiast for your project, I am currently in the process of writing an article for Wikinews about it. That is all very nice and is well sourced but I wonder if I can take a few minutes of your time and ask for a short interview with you - about the folding project as a whole and the new client. It would be nice as a sort of complimentary piece for the wikinews article. I would also, with your permission, like to submit the piece to be published in Micro Mart as well.

Some background, I have already written 2 articles on folding for Micro Mart as a leading member of the folding team set up on the magazines forums - in an attempt to get team support and publicise folding to the UK computing community. For Wikinews I am a sometimes contributor to technology pieces - especially folding related articles.

I should point out (in line with Wikinews policy) that any comments you make will be published online on en.wikinews.org (but that's fairly obvious anyway, I just have to mention it). I can also email you a copy of the 'finished' article, if you agree to perform the interview, for your approval before publication.

I have not been so presumptuous to include the interview questions with this email as I know you are probably very busy but if you do have time to spend 10 to 20 minutes answering my questions it would be appreciated. I don't know the best way to perform the interview if you agree- probably email is the best method. Alternatively some form of Instant messenger (although that might be problematic in sorting out a suitable time).

If you would be happy to be interviewed please let me know by return email and I will forward you the questions.

Thanks in advance for anytime you can give me and I eagerly await your response.
